Editorial Policy
When you read an article on Pawscuit, you’re trusting that someone actually checked what they’re telling you. This page explains exactly how we earn that trust — the process every article goes through before and after it’s published.

Our Editorial Standard
Pawscuit exists because too much pet content online is written to rank, not to help. Our standard is simple: if we wouldn’t trust an article’s advice for our own dog or cat, we don’t publish it.
How We Research Every Article
- Breed and pricing information is sourced from breed standards, kennel/cat federation guidelines, and pricing data gathered from multiple breeders, sellers, and marketplaces — not a single unverified source.
- Health and care information is drawn from veterinary literature and reputable animal-health publications. We do not write medical advice from opinion or guesswork.
- Product recommendations are based on our own evaluation of what a product actually does, not on which affiliate program pays the highest commission.
- Firsthand experience — where we or other pet owners have direct experience relevant to a topic, we include it, clearly framed as experience rather than universal fact.
Fact-Checking Before Publishing
Before an article goes live, claims are cross-checked against at least one additional source. If a fact can’t be verified, it’s either removed or explicitly framed as uncertain — we don’t dress up guesses as facts to sound more authoritative.
Keeping Articles Current
Pet prices, product availability, and even care guidance change over time. We revisit and update published articles when we find outdated information, rather than leaving stale content live indefinitely. Significant updates are reflected in the article’s “last updated” date where shown.
What We’re Not
We are not a veterinary practice. Nothing on Pawscuit is written or reviewed by a licensed veterinarian, and none of it should replace a real conversation with one about your specific pet. Where a topic genuinely requires professional judgment — diagnosing a symptom, prescribing treatment — we say so directly and point you toward professional care instead of guessing.
Affiliate Links and Editorial Independence
Some articles include affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you purchase through them. This never determines which products we cover, how we rate them, or what we say about them. See our Terms & Conditions for full detail.
Corrections
If you spot an error, we want to know. Email hello@pawscuit.com with the article link and what’s wrong — we review and correct genuine errors promptly.
